“Whether people can set themselves free from acquired ways of thinking and information in order to start thinking from scratch without their influence and create a new start point is the issue at the heart of my artistic approach in my time as a flying artist. Hassan Sheidaei, artist-in-residence 2022/2023 & 2023/2024

Hassan Sheidaei (*1984) studied for a masters degree in 2019 at the University of the Arts in Bremen under Prof. Markus Löffler, Prof. Andree Korpys and Prof. Ingo Vetter and has been a freelance artist ever since. His work includes videos and video installations as well as room installations and sculptures. In 2020 he won the Weißenburger Art Prize and the DA! Art Award in Düsseldorf. In 2021 he received the artist-in-residency bursary in Marrum in the Netherlands. Most recently Hassan’s work has been shown in the solo exhibition “be quiet!” in Bremerhaven culture church.
