IS BACK, 2021
Video installation, four megaphones, 14 min (loop) (Loop)

The sound in the work is produced through four megaphones that are positioned in four different directions, hanging in front of a video projection of a field of sheep. Visitors can move the megaphones like a swing, which produces a special sound effect in the exhibition space.

When I was a child my mother always told me that if I couldn’t get to sleep I should count sheep. That actually worked well for a long time. But at some point the sheep were no longer able to help me. Now I’m back to keep the sheep awake. Perhaps it’s better if we stay awake together. That way at least I’m not awake alone at night anymore.

SLABS, 2020
Four objects made from pressed old clothes, 30 x 30 x 4 cm, 40 x 40 x 4 cm, 55 x 55 x 4 cm, 70 x 70 x 4 cm

Recently I’ve been examining the issue of clothing: how and what clothes say about the people who wear them. And also how the roles of the wearers and what is being worn can shift: from the person who determines which clothes they wear to the clothes that determine a person’s identity.

I’m interested in the human in these apparently unusable materials that were taken from nature and in their changed form are eternally seeking an appropriate use.

CONVERSATION, 2018
Video, 6 min 10 sec

“The video shows a close-up of a man’s face staring intently at the camera. As the video is being filmed he starts to cry. It happens without any pathos and maintains a certain distance.”
