In the flying artist’s room I will

invite different actions and ideas and support the people involved with doing art that surprises them. I like it best when things come out of the process that only happen once and are then only available in people’s memories and stories.

Bringing different people together

is as essential a tool for me as colour is for someone who paints. I also like working with questions, listening, playing and time.

I am

an honest thief. I pinch techniques and ideas from different genres and times, but am happy to say where they come from. However, these initial ideas are always just the starting points for processes that we can only do together.

“For me, being able to make something imperfect is one of the best things to do. I’m quite good at being able to do quite a lot of things not particularly well.”

Leander Ripchinsky

What I like about the invisible

is that there’s more to see in it.

For the most part I don’t know how my performances will turn out

because what takes place depends as much on the audience as it does on the concept worked out beforehand.

I enjoy working with children and young people

because young people are much more willing to speak up if they have questions or are bored. That’s why it’s great, because in the stuff that comes out of my processes I’m less interested in the artworks and much more interested in the conversations and ideas that follow.

I hope that after my time as a flying artist

a few stones of thoughts lie on top of others. And perhaps a few physical stones even have done a little round trip.
