THE TINY TOUR, ONGOING SINCE 2017
Participative performance, various places in Germany, in collaboration with Vanessa Brazeau

The Tiny Tour is a site-specific tour with real and fictitious facts about everything that a space is and could be. Dressed as classic tour guides, the international team guide the participants in three languages through a space that might seem insignificant or mundane at first glance, but turns out to offer unimagined potential. The group explores a microcosm in a humorous way through matters of function, context and self-conception of the site, which leads to new findings but also challenges what people think they already know.

MINI GOLF WEATHER FORECAST, 2018
Conceptual mini golf course, Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Manorhamilton, Ireland

People love talking about the weather. It’s a safe way to get in touch with strangers and, even if the topic might seem mundane, get to know something about their personality. The mini golf weather forecast is a homage to small talk, randomness and weather reporters. During their artist residency at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Ireland, g.a.d.o. transformed the gallery space into a series of mini golf courses whose design was based on different weather phenomena. The visitors played all seven holes and noted how many strokes they needed for each one. At the end, they returned to the gallery counter where the artists evaluated their performance and handed out a personalised weather forecast for the next day.

WHO KNOWS?, 2019
Fortune-teller hotline, Kottbusser Tor subway station, Berlin, in collaboration with Melina von Gagern and Ina Weise

Who knows? is the promise of a fortune-teller hotline. An advertisement hoarding with a telephone number was displayed at the Kottbusser Tor subway station in Berlin. Once on the line, callers were taken into a confusing sound installation in which they encountered a nonsensical jingle, a mixture of excuses and repetitions. Two minutes later it became clear that the fortune-teller team was currently out of the office.

OKAY CLUB, ONGOING SINCE 2017
Club, Berlin-Wedding

The OKAY CLUB is open for ping-pong enthusiasts who don’t play that well or that badly. Members meet sporadically to play “okay” table tennis at Schulstraße 7, Berlin. “Show us your okay skills and join the club today!”

GOETHE OR SCHILLER, 2018
Card game

Goethe or Schiller is a card game based on research on art and dilettantism, and specifically the dilettantism project undertaken by the two men.

It is the summer of 1799 and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller have big plans. “I am all for attacking dilettantism with every weapon possible,” Schiller writes in a letter to his confidante. In their collaborative dilettantism project, Goethe and Schiller attempt to identify the concept of true artistic genius and its opposite, the dilettante. The legendary friends of Weimar Classicism aim for nothing less than to establish the ultimate rules for judging art and art practice. Surprisingly, neither turns out not to be that thorough himself – the project was not completed or published in their lifetimes. Reason enough to finish what they started so enthusiastically.

“Do you have the required knowledge, skills and above all innate genius to prove your talent? You’ll find out in this card game. In the end, only one can be the real artist – or even, since 1800, the real artist of a female variety.”
