Audiences are a key element of The Queen’s day-to-day work, and enable her to give time and focus to key individuals. This year our English course had the chance to have tea with Queen Elizabeth II in her royal rooms where she offered us tea, biscuits, scones and clotted cream.

We really enjoyed our visit and had many questions for the Queen e.g. “What do you think about president Trump?”. She kindly asked us not to repeat her response in public and of course we will honour her wish.

It was amazing how well-behaved and polite class 6c addressed the Queen in English. As a teacher I was amazed how well even the weakest pupils were able to understand and respond.

We were extremely lucky to have that event on our last day of school and I am still looking back on it making vows to let other courses have the same experience as soon as possible.
